Finally Iona is mine! As I’ve previously mentioned Agent Provocateur’s AW08 ‘Season of the Witch’ campaign is my personal favourite so I’m excited to add this piece to my collection. Disappointingly a lot of eBay sellers overprice this item (in worn condition nonetheless) for £200+ when it only retailed at £175, luckily my patience paid off and I found it for less than a quarter of this. For me AW08 is a favourite as the designs were all mostly out of the norm of florals/lace/pinks. Instead they came out with animal prints, barbed wire, illustrated camis, and lots of dark reds, browns, and other unusual colours. I’m a big bodysuit fan so Iona was high up in my wish list; the print, sleeves, and bow details at the neck and belt all do it for me.

The Iona bodysuit is such a fierce look and I can’t wait to style it with some trousers to wear as outerwear! This is however hindered by the one flaw in an otherwise perfect item for me, the cups (a selling point for others though). Beneath the stretch print leotard lies a structured basque-like bodysuit complete with bullet bra cups, a fun look if you can fill it out! Unfortunately even in a size small my 30B doesn’t even come close to filling out the cups yet any attempt to stuff them looks awkward and disproportional. My current idea is to fold the cups flat and use tape to smooth the folds into a seamless shape, I’ll be sure to update if this works. I have seen others online remove the cups so I know this isn’t a unique problem however tearing apart an item which to me seems so iconic feels like I would be destructing and devaluing it (I can’t even cut labels out) so will look for other options!

Here I paired Iona with Agent Provocateur’s Parisienne hold ups, these were featured in the campaign but I’m not sure if they were introduced that season? I love the gorgeous lace pattern and can’t wait to wear them out with a LBD. However they have a sewn seam running all the way down the back and along the bottom of the foot to the toes which make them uncomfortable to wear and as such I’ve only tried them on at home. I’m not sure if l’ll have to either ignore the foot shape at the end and twist the seam to the inside so I’m at least not stepping on the seam or to just try to learn to ignore it. In the mean time I shall just admire their beauty for short periods of time at home and in photographs.
