Along with Amaya at the Bordelle sample sale I picked up this Longline Bodice bra and the Orbit choker for quite the steal. In hindsight I wish I’d got another choker to wear as garters and clip my suspender straps on to! I didn’t expect to find any signatures in the sale as they’re a Bordelle constant that has no need to be discounted and it’s been a while since they created them so the original samples are likely long gone. What I didn’t know is that Bordelle have updated their design for this bra, using a different binding at the neck, and thus this older stock piece ended up in the sale. They told me the binding is different and actually made the bras run small, explaining how I fit my usual SS into a S. While I’m not usually one for padding and push ups this creates such an amazing an amazing silhouette and has easily become one of my go tos, these bras aren’t just for glam!

Would it be a Bordelle post without a shot of the back? I love this close up that shows off the details (thanks bf for the photography help). It is unique to have a zip fastening on a bra and works so well with Bordelle’s designs! I love wearing a low back jumper with this for a contrast of cozy fabric and bold hardware.

This outfit encapsulates what I love about Bordelle: it’s versatility. None of these three pieces are from the same range yet all compliment each other (and would you really know the difference?). This has two advantages; first for someone like me on a student budget it makes it possible to buy one piece at a time and not have to worry about missing the rest of the set when it goes out of season. Second, it feels like a more sustainable option than churning out large amounts of new designs each season. Even if you buy one of the few seasonal Bordelle pieces it will still match with the rest of their signatures. Bordelle also have a restoration service to repair items that have suffered wear and tear, further extending the life cycle of their items! My decision now is whether to keep buying black pieces to mix and match or to add some of their gorgeous burnt red to my collection...
